Jake Zicarelli is an associate attorney for Hecht Walker PC and practices in real property, contract, building and local government and authority disputes. Jake has represented clients for HW in disputes related to subcontractor disputes for a homebuilder, wrongful foreclosure matter, employment and contract disputes, encroachment, and various business disputes. He has handled discovery disputes related to tens of thousands of documents for production and for receipt for HW. He is an important member of the team.

Prior to coming to HW, Jake served as a law clerk for three years at the law firm of Phipps & Howell in Tallahassee, Florida. The Tallahassee firm specialized in civil litigation including employment law, ad valorem property taxation, administrative law, and workers’ compensation. His experience prepared him well for his current position at Hecht Walker. Jake also has served as a researcher for the Center for Innovative Collaboration in Medicine and Law based at Florida State University where he studied emerging trends in the U.S. healthcare system. Jacob also worked for over a year with a South Florida law firm that handled commercial disputes, bankruptcy, and foreclosure defense.

Mr. Zicarelli graduated cum laude from Florida State University College of Law and was a member of the Business Law Society. While attending law school, Jacob performed substantial volunteer work for Legal Services of North Florida where he assisted indigent clients with home foreclosure and tax disputes. Jake was recognized by FSU Law for Distinguished Pro Bono Service. Jake received his BA Degree cum laude from the University of Florida where he also completed UF’s Honors Program.

Jake is a team player who relates well to attorneys and clients. He brings with him an energetic drive and competitive spirit, a thorough attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a healthy sense of humor.
